BIO

Krystle Walton is a multi-disciplined artist from Louisiana with a passion for sculpting and ceramics. After studying art in college, she fell in love with the hands-on process of creating with clay, exploring the endless possibilities of texture, form, and color. Her work blends traditional techniques with a modern twist, resulting in vibrant, one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect her unique artistic journey.

Golden Fire Ceramics is Krystle’s dream—a vision that she is passionately working toward. Though not yet fully realized, it represents her commitment to bringing her art to life and sharing it with others. Alongside her ceramics, Krystle enjoys connecting with the community through custom commissions and hosting workshops, where she inspires others to explore their creativity and discover the beauty of handcrafted art.

Artist Statement

What’s good?! This is my artistic journey(so far). As a creative, I've always been drawn to all sorts of art, but ceramics is where I really found my home. There's something about “playing in the mud” and building things from scratch that just resonates- perhaps my connection with literal earth? lol Make no mistake-I love throwing on pottery wheels as well, but I will never resist the appeal of that hands-on, sculptural approach.

What inspires me? All of the things really. Nature's a big one – all of the interesting shapes and textures keep me in a sense of awe and wonder. But what is really the heart of my inspiration? Black people. I love us. Always have, always will. We possess so much beauty, strength, and magic, and I try to incorporate that into everything I make.

My creations aren’t just about making something aesthetically pleasing; it's about capturing a moment through form. The best art makes you think. Feel something – anything. Could be awe, confusion, or even a bit of discomfort. If it resonates-stirs something in you- that’s the best I could hope for. I love ceramics and sculpture so much because It's not just about the visual –it possesses the possibility of being an experience that engages multiple senses, is sometimes practical, but makes the attempt to meet you where you are. On the fine art end, it’s also about being present in the moment, and seeking the wonder around you.

My work ranges from all function (bowls, mugs) to fine art forms (my sculpted pieces), and anything that sparks curiosity in between. I embrace the weird. Art has always been important, more now than ever.
Sometimes, I create pieces that are my perspective of Black representation in art. Other times, I am the actual Black representation in art. Otherwise, I make pieces worth talking about. I make tangible moments. I make dope shit.
