Sydney Foringer is a Texas-born painter and creative leader whose work explores emotion, presence, and stillness through honest expression. Rooted in intentional discomfort, her paintings function as both an emotional release and a grounding practice, inviting viewers to sit with feeling rather than move past it.
Beyond her studio practice, Foringer is the founder and CEO of Side Wall Studio, an artist-centered platform that challenges traditional gallery models by spotlighting one artist at a time. Through this focused approach, she redirects attention to the individual—amplifying the artist’s story, process, and the causes that inspire their work.
Artist Statement
Many artists rely on hidden meanings, symbolism, and carefully encrypted messages to explain their work. My practice takes a more direct and informal approach. Working primarily with acrylics and abstract forms, I don’t aim to assign a specific moment or memory to every brushstroke. Instead, I focus on how painting has helped carry me through the darker places life can lead us—and how those experiences can be reshaped into something shared, open, and hopeful.
I paint as an act of release and renewal. My work gives form to emotions that don’t always surface easily and creates space for rebirth—of mindset, of perspective, and of worry. At times the work may feel brash or disorderly, but that tension is intentional. It is a rebellion against my own thoughts, expectations, and the pressure to conform. Through this process, I seek to show my most raw and honest self.
Art, in any shape or style, is deeply personal to me. It is both refuge and expression. If you’re willing, I invite you into my world—my haven of paint—and offer you a place to pause, reflect, and explore alongside me.
