Mikayla Leepow

My work explores the complex and often contradictory relationships we have with each other and the world around us, using irony and surrealism as tools to challenge conventional norms. I break away from traditional sculptural materials by focusing on discarded and found objects, allowing their inherent history to inform the work. Through this approach, I create pieces that evoke both humor and absurdity while simultaneously addressing darker or more provocative themes. My art exists as both a personal exploration and a communal conversation, where the boundaries between reality and dream, humor and darkness, remain in constant flux.
