Kedra Sumner
Acrylic / Markers
My art is expressed through paintings, using a mix of acrylic paint and artist markers, including double-headed markers and sharpies. My work often reflects my pain and my desire to stand apart. I create in solitude, letting my emotions flow freely onto the canvas. Whether surrounded by music, candles, or the outdoors, I seek anything that allows my creativity to flow effortlessly, without overthinking.

Queen of Motion
Art By: Kedra Sumner
A queen can never truly be still—there is always movement surrounding her life. She is constantly the topic of discussion or fulfilling her duties. The outlines encasing her body from the neck down represent containment, as if she is bursting with color, yet feels trapped within. Her gold earrings embody class and elegance, perfectly complementing her gold crown—the one element of her that remains untarnished and unwavering, no matter the chaos around her.

Til Death do us Part

A sweet embodiment of innocence, a perfect blend of both father and mother. I intentionally left her open to interpretation, allowing viewers to see her as either youthful or mature, depending on how they relate to her. The hairbows at the ends of her pigtails reflect a playful, “childish” side, while her boldly stern lips convey the emotions of a teenager navigating life. Her elongated yellow neck symbolizes the growth spurts of womanhood, and the radiant red aura surrounding her declares, "I know who I am as a woman!"
Wife/Mother
Til Death do us Part

Her beauty radiates through her long, bold blue hair, while her gentle freckles give her a cosmic, ethereal quality. She is deeply connected to her husband, bonded by both love and color. As the nurturer of her family, she keeps them united. The orange “x” across her face symbolizes the trials and tribulations she has faced, but the solid green in her neck serves as a reminder to hold her head high and keep moving forward.

The world’s distress surrounds him but he himself is at peace. His eyes of orange is very calming. His facial features are surrounded by a clean cut and proper look, for this gentleman. His purple beard and green low cut hair can be seen gratifying features I made his dark blue jaw lines PUSH a strong masculinity and confidence. The outline of his BIG red lips is to express how he speaks with intelligence and power.
Broken-hearted but I still beat
Art By: Kedra Sumner
This is my pain... or your pain. Time and time again. Over and over... Promises, cuts, punches, insults, and dead ends. All bottled up in a heart that still beats... A heart that still hopes and beats for better days. A band-aid is trying its best to hold it together. The pieces containing the heart are all outlined by black; they are shards of glass. If you look carefully, you will see the words 'LOVE HATE' in the heart. The black arrows signify a constant battle between love and hate. They are the up and down feelings of emotions. The key is supposed to unlock the sorrow, but it's blocked away for now.
Hold my Hand
Art By: Kedra Sumner
Broad Chisel and Fine Tip markers in various colors were used to depict multiple shades of complexion, creating a genuine effect. This art aims to represent unity across all forms of feminism. It's okay to acknowledge our vulnerabilities and express needs for help, attention, affection, and reassurance. This piece reminds me of the calming effect of holding someone's hand, akin to a grand hug.
Dangerously Protected
Art By: Kedra Sumner
I used Broad Chisel and Fine Tip markers for this sharp shooting, gun soaking beauty!! Sea blue colors swim in the background to calm the balance of the firearms grip. The trigger finger is held strong by hands that have multiple colors of shades that signify the expression of everyone. Her nails are girly long pointy and iconic. The patterns of the firearm and her palm are unique in resemblance- at this point in time they are ONE. The snake slithers out instead of a bullet metaphorically as a conversational piece : The lines surrounding the forearm are shaky and steady. Notice the heart above the index finger.. Would you pull a trigger for the ones you love? Do you believe we all have the right to carry?
Spirit Animal- BluElephant
Art By: Kedra Sumner
Broad Chisel and Fine Tip markers. Reds, pinks, and oranges create texture effects to complement calm blues and teals. Abstract lines give a fun portrait. The animal is strong and mighty, embodying what one hopes to be in a massive world.

The yellow in the background shines through to uplift the dark colors on the nails. The cross on the ring finger is best wishes and hopes of marriage one day! Conversation piece what is your marriage ring size? 8.5!! The cross could also be an image for religious beliefs.
Who am I
Art By: Kedra Sumner
Kedra Sumner: “ Who am I?” I expressed my passion with abstract art using acrylic paint and Filbert brushes. I was hurting mentally and in distress when I composed “Who am I?” Confused with repetitive thoughts that I couldn’t calm. I decided to paint what my mind would look like from the outside looking in. The red side of my face is the worry and uncertainty part of me. The eye balls reflect how I always felt like Im constantly being judged. The right side of me is the face that I have to pretend that I’m okay when deep down I’m not. The bold bright red is a call for help in distress..The yellow heart is what signifies hope for me for better days to come.
