BIO
I’m a photographer drawn to contrast, shadow, and the way light shapes how we see ourselves. My work has always been rooted in people, presence, and environment, whether I’m creating personal work or collaborating on larger commercial projects. I hold a BA in Commercial and General Photography, and my background includes personal branding, music videos, commercial work for major cigar companies, and visual content for mayoral campaigns.
Across all of it, I approach photography with the same mindset: intention, patience, and respect for the moment. I create images meant to be printed and lived with, not just scrolled past. No matter the setting, my focus is on capturing something honest and grounded—an image that feels real both to the person standing in it and to the person viewing it.
Artist Statement
This body of work is rooted in my long-standing relationship with cigar culture and the spaces it creates. Within a cigar lounge, individuals from different backgrounds, cultures, beliefs, and political perspectives gather side by side, free from the need to justify who they are. In these moments, the cigar acts as a quiet equalizer—slowing conversation, softening boundaries, and shifting focus from status to presence.
Through an emphasis on contrast and shadow, I use light to reflect the ritual, mood, and intimacy of these environments. The act of smoking becomes both subject and structure, shaping how figures emerge and recede within the frame. These images are created with permanence in mind, meant to be printed and lived with rather than briefly consumed.
At its core, this work examines the understated power of shared stillness—the way a simple ritual can create connection, allow reflection, and momentarily dissolve the divisions that exist outside the room.
